Everyone knows about El Prado, but does everyone know how sick their wine list is?? Go sit at the bar with friends who will let you order a bottle, use your flash light to look at their list, and pick whatever your heart desires.
They have something for everyone, from the most classic expressions (while still low-intervention), to the most left of center/bizzaro wines. Most bottles are under 100 dollars and their by the glass options are great (they've been plastering signs around the east side promoting themselves as the last 10 dollar glass in LA, but that's a different conversation). All I ask, in this recommendation, is that you don't order the house orange, not because it's not good, but because I believe we should all try something new.
Lastly, since they got in trouble with the cops for overflowing into the street, it seems as if people have migrated to different wine bars. I always find a seat and always have a great time.
