Amorotti - Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo 2023

This is a special wine from an amazing producer. Amorotti, is a label by winemaker Gaetano Carboni, in Abruzzo. His family has been making wine for generations, but this is the first time they've bottled their own juice. Neighbors with Valentini, the most famous winemaker in the region, Valentini helped Carboni start out.

In a way, Amorotti is baby-Valentini. This rose is made of 100% Montepulciano. It's dark fruited, savory, and textural with a flinty, reductive nose. It does well on its own to open up in the glass or it can absolutely benefit from a decant.
